Every self-respecting Dons fan knows something of the Washington Whips. At the very least they know that back in 1967 the club undertook an unusual North American tour and became the representatives of Washington DC in the inaugural season of the North American Soccer League.
David Innes' book includes personal conversations with many of the Aberdeen players who made the trip, and in particular a detailed interview with Dons manager Eddie Turnbull. Much of this material hasn't been seen until now, and it is fitting that this book was published to coincide with the 50th anniversary of that tour.
